I received my BA in Economics from Brigham Young University. Before graduating, I lived in Frankfurt, Germany for two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After coming back home, I (re-)met my wife and we had the first of our now five kids. Here is my wonderful, crazy family. We have since had a couple more.

In a previous life, I was a music and theater major. Here are links to press releases of some of my previous shows

Growing up, mountain biking was our official family summer sport. While at Iowa, although there were no Rocky Mountains or Moab (see below) there to bike, there was a nice, well-maintained set of midwestern mountain biking trails about 30 minutes north of Iowa City at Sugar Bottom. I now am spoiled by living in the Pacific Northwest within minutes of some of the best mountain biking in the world (some favorites include Tiger Mountain, Raging River, Tokul, and the incomparable Duthie Hill Bike Park).
